The Barstow Rodeo Stampede was founded in 1988 by a group of local residents to ensure the integrity of our western heritage. Starting in the 1940's, rodeo in Barstow was a recreational event until the rodeo grounds were destroyed by fire in the 1950's. Barstow rodeo was reborn in September 1988 as the Barstow Rodeo Stampede.

 Slash T Pro Rodeo Company
The Slash T Pro Rodeo Company of Gooding, Idaho is the contractor for the Barstow Rodeo Stampede.  Slash T Pro Rodeo is owned and operated by the O'Maley family, including Mom, Dad, kids, son-in-law and grandchildren.  Pat O'Maley (dad) was a professional bull rider for 25 years and a former Idaho champion prior to entering the stock business.  Pat's wife Juanita, has been a rodeo secretary for over 30 years, but is much more at home in the rodeo arena sorting, flanking, moving or loading cattle along with timing for the rodeo events.

The O'Maley's are joined in the rodeo business by daughters Patti and Tammy who both competed in Jr. Rodeo, High School, College and Semi-Professinal rodeo before joining mom and dad in rodeo contracting.  Tammy's husband, Eric Johnson and their three children round out the Slash T Pro Rodeo Company.

Juanita & Pat O'Maley

The O'Maley's produce over 30 rodeos each year in Neveda, Oregon, Utah, Idaho and California.  They conduct a "born to buck" breeding program on their 440 acre ranch just outside of Gooding, Idaho.  This breeding program has been a real success as evidenced by the use of Slash T Pro Rodeo stock in the Super Bowl of rodeos, the National Finals at Las Vegas, Nevada.  Slash T stock has also been a part of the extreme bull events in Idaho and Utah.  Slash T animals have been a part of the Dodge National Circuit Finals in Pocatello Idaho along with the Wilderness Circut Finals for the Northwest.  Slash T stock has also been used at the Pendleton Roundup and the Cheyenne Frontier Days to name a few of the larger rodeos to which they have been invited.

The O'Maley's bring a wholesome family atmosphere to the sport of rodeo and their great stock will enhance and add real excitement to the Barstow Rodeo Stampede.
